3rd/4th Grade Pod
The artwork and seating space was purposefully created to invite small group learning so students can flexibly move from the classroom to a smaller group in the pod area. Additionally, you will see rounded walls that close a small learning space at the end of the pod. The green wall is also recycled cork so that student work can be displayed throughout the year without damaging the wall itself.

Our wonderful Art Teacher added these beautiful Dragon Wings to our wall so that students, staff and visitors can take fun pictures with them.

Our wonderful Art Teacher added these beautiful Dragon Wings to our wall so that students, staff and visitors can take fun pictures with them.
As you enter our beautiful building, you will notice several things. Our mascot is painted on the wall standing behind recycled cork board shaped trees. At the top of the trees you will notice heart shaped leaves that parents have purchased in previous years. You can also see the entrances to our Main Office, Gymnasium and Community Room. You also see the main stairwell that goes upstairs to the 5th grade pod. At the top of the stairwell, you can see a creative dragon that was painted by ArtManDo during a previous ARTS Week.

Our ECE and Kindergarten classrooms include tiled and carpeted areas and multiple different flexible seating options. Bathrooms are also located in each individual classroom so that students do not have to leave the classroom.

Art Room
Izzi B has a large and unique Art Room for our elementary students. We even have pottery wheels and a kiln so that our students get the opportunity to work with a variety of materials. Our students will have experiences with a multitude of projects including exploration of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork and community projects.

5th Grade Pod
5th Grade pod located on the second floor. Here, you will see a mural created during ARTS Week of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. You will also notice a small seated area for students to utilize for small groups or an independent work area. You will see Pine Beetle Wood. This wood was utilized throughout the building in an attempt to help prevent forest fires. After beetles kill a tree, it can be harvested for wood products and you can sequester their carbon storage. If not harvested, these trees fall over and decay and become kindling in the forest.

Community Room
Our Community Room serves many purposes for our school. This space is our cafeteria, performance stage, assembly space and community meeting space. The garage door opens up and leads to our outdoor space, created to inspire a natural transition from indoors to outside for learning. Izzi B has an outdoor stage so that students can hold an impromptu play or sit quietly outside. The large windows and tall ceilings create an airy feeling and allow you to see the outdoors while eating in the cafeteria. You can also see Pine Beetle Wood panels utilized on the ceiling, which is great for our performance acoustics and sound. You will also see this same wood in various places throughout the building.

You will see the Staff Resource Room, where we have dedicated significant funds to create a room full of diverse books, art supplies, manipulatives and other materials for classroom use. Playground
Our playground is very large and open. We have a soccer field, baseball diamond, basketball courts, hop-scotch, four square, tetherball and playground equipment. You will also see our school garden on the far west side located near our enclosed ECE playground. Our Council also raised money and purchased multiple picnic tables that have been installed throughout the playground area.

Handprint Art Mural
Our ECE and Kindergarten pod includes an art piece created during our annual ARTS Week by a guest artist in residence and our students and staff. You can see handprints of our students and staff that are creating a beautiful representation of our connectedness as humans. Handprints are painted surrounding a map of the world with individual fingerprints representing where our students and staff originated from. We have students representing 27 languages and connections to all over our world. This piece is representative of our global citizenship, something we value as an asset at our school.

This large second floor escape takes advantage of natural light and provides sweeping views facing West toward the mountains. With each visit, students engage in story time read alouds, learn the way a library is organized and how to use skills to navigate the space and find the right book for them. Library is a wonderful time in each student’s schedule to have free choice, a safe and calm space to “travel” through books and explore interests beyond their school day lessons.

She is best known for her uncompromising and brilliantly colored self-portraits that deal with such themes as identity, the human body, and death.
