Join our community book study group. Our current book is “So You Want To Talk About Race” by ljeoma Oluo. Over the course of 3 sessions we will create a safe space for participants to explore the author’s straightforward solutions to engaging in difficult but crucial conversations surrounding race.
Visit the Brave Coalition website for more information.
As part of our continuing effort to bring Brave Conversations to local school communities, we are holding another heartfelt examination of Ijeoma Oluo’s powerful book So You Want To Talk About Race with Isabella Bird Community School teachers, staff, and parents. If you missed the first run, we encourage you to sign up this time. We will hold a safe space to explore the book’s solutions for addressing racial inequality.
The book club will be held on three afternoon sessions from 3:30-5:00 pm: Tuesday September 24 (Chapters 1-6); Tuesday October 1 (Chapters 7-12); Tuesday October 15 (Chapters 13-17). Participants must attend all three sessions.
Thanks to the school’s support, there is no cost for this program. However, participants will need to purchase the book in advance (find it on Amazon here).
