Born and raised here in Denver, I am proud to have served in this awesome city for the past 19 years! After getting my Masters in Curriculum and Design at the University of Denver, I traveled the world and taught in Bosnia, Mongolia and South Korea. I moved back to Denver and taught Special Education at Thomas Jefferson High School. I wanted to work with younger kids so I moved to a charter school that taught 5-8 grades in Southwest Denver. I fell in love with 5th grade. The year they are still little and big all at the same time. What an amazing age! After a decade, I left to start our new school in Montbello and moved to Central Park. I decided I was done commuting and got a job at one of the many amazing schools in my own neighborhood! Izzi B is a wonderful place I’m happy to call home. I live here with my husband, two little girls, two awesome cats, and a snake that was gifted to me against my will. 🙂
