DPS believes every family should have equitable access to the schools they feel are the best fit for their student, regardless of their background or where they live in Denver.
In some areas of Denver, DPS uses “enrollment zones” rather than traditional single-school boundaries. An enrollment zone is a geographic area where the students living within it are guaranteed a seat at one of several schools, not just one particular school. Isabella Bird Community School is in the Central Park enrollment zone. To find out if you live in this zone, enter your address into the School Finder. All new students who wish to enroll in Isabella Bird Community School for 2026-27 must submit a SchoolChoice application.
The 2026-27 SchoolChoice application is open from 10 a.m. on Dec. 2, 2025 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 20, 2026. We highly encourage families to participate in Round 1 for the best chance of getting matched to your preferred school.
SchoolChoice is as easy as Find, Apply, Rank!

The SchoolChoice system then matches students to schools based on their preferences, as well as school admission priorities and available space. Families will be notified of placement results and waitlist positions in late February.
