Emily teaches kindergarten at Izzi B. She is passionate about creating an environment that honors childhood by fostering both hard work and deep play. She loves building relationships with students as individuals to help each child realize their own potential.
Emily’s background is in education and technology. She comes to Izzi B from Silicon Valley, where she led the education team for an education technology startup creating interest-based learning communities. Previously, she taught multiple grades in schools in Boston and New York City, technical subjects in corporate settings for adult learners, and worked professionally as a software engineer. Using her background in the STEM fields, Emily creates learning experiences that invite students to view themselves as changemakers with access to real-world tools for creativity and collaboration.
Emily earned a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Computer Science from Columbia University and is pursuing a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from CU Denver.
Outside of school, you can find Emily hiking, kayaking, and doing crossword puzzles.
