Erin is one of our essentials/specials teachers. This school year marks Erin’s twelfth year in the teaching profession (word on the street is every year of teaching is like dog years, so it could be 84 years since she started). Erin said she got into education because she is a sucker who believed all the hype. Just kidding. After teaching in Florida for 8-years, she moved to Loveland, Colo., and is now at Izzi B. Her presence at IBCS is one of fun and spunk. She loves the relationships she’s created at the school, and its transparency and support. Fun facts about Erin: she owns protected land in the Amazon Rainforest, worked with chimpanzees doing cognitive research, was a foster parent, has 3 younger siblings, both parents are professional artists, and an adopted daughter that has made her a grandmother, ugh, lastly is a super dog mom. Erin has had her artwork all over the country, in museums and galleries, is an award-winning artist for her jewelry, and has very high expectations for our young budding artists. Erin’s hopes and dreams are to finish her master’s degree in Learning, Developmental, and family sciences from CU in 2023, shoot for her Ph.D., keep making art, and share the love with our dragon community.
